UN-LABORED WEEKEND!

I was all ready for the big fishing trip.  I had planned on catching the “big” one once again.  Out smarting those fish and also sticking to my plan to catch the “first” and “BIGGEST” fish of the day.

But…when I got home from work…I walked through the house and noticed that huhoney was in the back yard, spiffing up the pool area, had the lawn mowed, and was doing some trimming.  I said “whatcha doing honey, didn’t you just do all this a few days ago? “Yes” was his reply, “but I thought I would get things ready so we could just relax this weekend and maybe swim and just hang out”  Hm, well isn’t that nice of huhoney to think of that, we will just be playing all weekend.  3 glorious days of doing absolutely nothing, if we don’t want to.  OK…so I sat beside him on the lawn, pulled a few weeds, we talked, just talked, about nothing, a little time passed, we talked about going to get something to eat…then…huhoney looks up and smiles…he says, “who’s that”?   (he knew all along) well I poked my head around and looked at the back door, couldn’t see anything, thought it was maybe my youngest son and his family (they live close by) and I couldn’t really see the baby anywhere then “SURPRISE!”, THE LITTLE RASCLES WERE STANDING THERE!  I was so excited I almost cried!  Owen was so excited about surprising me he just stood there frozen and just smiling…then leaped into my arms and squeezed my neck soooo tight!  These little rascals are so dang cute I could just scream!  My oldest son, wife and 3 little rascals decided to surprise me and drive down from up north.    I was then bomb barded with 3 of them in my arms and squeals of delight that they had “surprised” Oma!  Usually it is huhoney and I that take the 4 hour ride to see them but…they led me to believe they would be out of town this weekend with the out-laws.  HA, they planned on coming the whole time and needless to say I was a little sad when I didn’t think I would see them over the long weekend.  So I set my mind to FISHING.  (which of course didn’t happen)  Within 10 minutes they were striped down and had their floaties on and were in the pool!  We had a great time together.  We swam,  Sept 09- labor day 234

these children are like fish, they attached themselves to their daddy’s back then he takes a dive under the water and swims the length of the pool which isn’t very far…but 27 feet is a good test of how long they hold their breath! Sept 09- labor day 009

ZUMBA!

Before I show you a couple of clips of the exercise class that is the newest RAGE (ZUMBA) I thought I would share a pic of the moon last night! It was amazing! So bright…and there were clouds all around it…YES the weather man forecasted rain and way, way, way, far away in the distant dessert over the Grand Canyon probably, we saw bolts of lightening and flashes through the clouds. It was a great light show that I could not capture because well I am not that good of a photographer and I don’t have the right camera, but I know Santa personally and he said he would get me a new one if I was a good girl this year….hehehe this first pic is with the flash, click to enlarge and you can see the tiny star trying to peek out of the cloud on the right….

Sept 09-1 001 the second pic is the same shot but without the flash….click to enlarge and see the tiny star on the right in the clouds….this was about 9:30 pmSept 09-1 002

To insert this post I am using something new for me…it is http://download.live.com/writer I downloaded it and it takes so much less time to download pictures than using my BlogSpot post thingy. I am sooo not a computer person…everything happens here by accident! No matter what I read or try it is all by trial and accident ladies! hehehe. SO, I told you all about this ZUMBA I am committed to do…or maybe be committed I should say, anyway it gets the ole heart pumping and I am showing only the instructor(s) doing it. (they sometimes grab someone from the floor to do it on the stage…shows different levels of where people are at)…On the platform there are 2 ladies who are my neighbors, they are Polynesian, absolutely beautiful, the mother, and she has 2 daughters, you will be able to pick them out of the others on the platform that teach this class. Beside this class they teach Polynesian dancing and perform all over. Behind the scene in the gym there are over 100 people doing this….HONESTLY it is a riot! no one cares, I repeat, NO ONE CARES, how you look doing this because they are so into themselves. LOLOLOLOL I laughed my fanny off the first time because I felt to FOOLISH, but now, I am just one of the crowd! SO MUCH FUN…let you hair down and all your inhibitions GO!

the girl in the center is not an instructor, they just pulled her out of the crowd... she is like me..level 1, the girl up front is 13, and her sister on the back end is 17, these girls can move!

Have a great weekend everyone and if you are driving somewhere, please drive safely!

WEATHER? or not? that is the ??

  • Wednesday Scattered Thunderstorms Hmm partly cloudy with a chance of rain? WHERE did they get that idea? 96° high/ 82° low

  • Thursday Scattered Thunderstorms doesn’t look much different…

  • 98° high / 82° low

  • Friday Scattered Thunderstorms think they could be a little more…creative?

  • 95° high/ 71° low

  • Saturday T-stormswell maybe we can go on a bike ride again?

  • 92° high/ 65° low

Last week Huhoney and I went for a bike ride in the evening. It was overcast and seemed like the perfect night to ride and catch a slight cool breeze. Our favorite ride is about 4 or 5 miles through neighborhoods and golf course trails. I am usually in the lead, because I go slower than Huhoney so he lets me set the pace (hehehe) I ventured out and 3/4 way through the trail I stopped and took some photos of the trail we were riding on.aug 09 001 Don’t let the sign of “Falling Rocks” scare you. It never has me! You can get a great view of the valley along side this trail.aug 09 003 The Virgin River had a good amount of water running through it, something that you don’t always see in this dry dessert. It is fed by the water from Zions National Park.

    aug 09 006aug 09 004

The trail goes on and on and if you continue one way or the other you can add another4 to 7 miles to your ride.

aug 09 005 aug 09 007 But we turned around because we started to feel a few sprinkles of rain drops…..so at the end of the trail we took cover against a brick wall….

yes and even on a bike ride I always try and look my best…lipstick, earings and glasses, you just never know when you are going have your picture taken!aug 09 010-1 aug 09 017 It got dark very quickly…and my camera lens could not escape the rain drops!

By the time we got home we were SOAKED to the bone….

aug 09 020 aug 09 019 But I managed to hurry and dry off and snuggle into my cozy robe…brrrrraug 09 028

The pool cover collected a lot of rain…aug 09 030 it was a fun ride…a little scary when the thunder started and we could see flashes of lightening in the far distance….Huhoney just said, “lets go for it” we were peddling lightening fast! These summer rains (not too often) come in so quickly and just DUMP on us, usually causing flooding in parts of the valley. We are high enough so we are safe. I am looking forward to this weekend….3 days off because of the “Labor Day” Holiday. For many it is a last ditch to go somewhere, but for us…we are staying close to home. And of course with the thunder storms comes lightening and FIRES and because of this our mountains DID get hit…and because of that, we are experiencing some incredible sunrises and sunsets….

    aug 09 - 3 002

    aug 09 - 3 003

taken from my car on the way to work…yeah yeah I know…shouldn’t be driving and snapping pictures….but I couldn’t resist.

    aug 09 - 3 005 aug 09 - 3 006

right now the sky’s are blue! NOT a rain cloud in sight. So much for the weather forecast! See you all tomorrow. I have a ZUMBA video for you all!
