THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Definetely 2 is better than 1. I know in my case that is true. Being "one" can be lonley. "One" slice of bread just never satisfies me...."One" cookie is never enough, "One" potatoe chip is unheard of (because you CAN"T eat just one!) "One" Saturday a month would never do, there is too much to do in just "one".... being "One" child in a family would be spoiled...(that's why I have 3) "One" moment in time can make a huge difference in "One" persons life, so personally to me "2" is better than "1". (in my case) I love my other "One", he is a huge part of who this "one" is, he completes me as a person. So together we make a great "2", or couple, or pair.....Just some food for thought, although it really isn't food that you can eat...but something to chew on for thought. Hmmm. These are my small own thoughts. Here is a thought from another important person:

Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit.

INNOCENCE OF A CHILD

Camille and her sister KC were having a conversation, during the conversation KC said something to the effect (and I may not get this all perfectly right) but she said something like, "dangit", well the very "smart perceptvie" 6 year old child that Ryan is (being in the same room) said "we don't say that word KC" so the conversation continued, (you have to understand, Camille and Mike are trying to teach the children words that are appropriate to say and ways to express themselves without being....well you know.... wrong) so as the story goes words were going back and forth and KC saying words and Ryan put the kabosh on everything she said. KC: Can we say... "shoot" Ryan: "nope" KC: ______ Ryan: nope KC: _______ Ryan: nope.....
KC: well then, what can we say....and after careful considersation

Ryan: "what the hell". (very matter-of-fact)

Well you can imagine the surprise and laughter that followed from Camille and KC!

Pure innocence of a child 6 years old.

LUCKY ME (sigh) BLESSED!

The grandkids were up for the weekend. Need I say more! Ryan and Kyler were both born on St. Patricks day and I decided to have a little cake and ice cream for them and give them a BD present.

The weather was so beautiful, the kids played at the park (hard) and played at home...it was a busy weekend, the little ones keep me on my toes all right! I even got to sleep with them! Let me tell you a Queen Size bed is NOT big enough for an Oma, a snuggle bug (Owen) and a torando (Lauren aka Lalee)! But I managed and was a sucker the 2nd night too!

Lauren dresses like a princess every day...she loves her tutu's. She even had to wear a tutu over her pj's to sleep in. Here are a few pics of what keeps me going and makes me smile!

there is nothing in the world better than this!

Even feeding ducks is an adventure and something the kids look forward to every time they come.

The ducks love it too! Lauren usually feeds herself...

Because Papa doesn't have the pool opened (still a little too cold) the sprinklers seemed to make them happy....they did the sprinkler chase....started in the back yard for 5 minutes,

then the side yard for 5 minutes,

then the front yard.
They thought that was pretty cool. (and it was cool!) just strip them down and let them RUN like the wind!

Lauren always looks so dang cute....Camille creates the cutest hairdos!

so after all is said and done and the visit has come to an end, the packing up and loading of the van, kids in car, and Bob and I were sitting on the couch, side by side, there was a stillness in the room. No running, no jumping, no climbing on our laps, asking for a baba, no spontaneous hugs and kisses from Owen telling me how much he misses me and loves me, we both burst out in laughter and Bob shakes his head, they are never really gone......at sometime during their stay....a sock was pulled from a foot, heaved into the air...and landed........only to be noticed when we were smiling back on the visit.......

How clean are your windows?

It has been a uneventful week....sometimes those are good....

THOUGHT:

See the Trees
By William Lambert.....(I could not have said this better..)

I lived in Alabama on a half-acre lot blessed huge oak trees that were 40 feet in diameter. They were HUGE! The house was laid out such that every bedroom faced the backyard. Each bedroom had a large picture window. The view was breathtaking. I enjoyed just looking at the trees. In the fall I would identify a particular leaf that was falling and watched it for what seemed liked 5 minutes before it fell to earth.

One day I invited this married couple over to enjoy the view from the bedroom window. I took them into the bedroom and excitedly pointed to the trees out of the window and exclaimed, "just look"!

After about 20 seconds there was no comment from the couple. I however, noticed a big frown on the woman's face.

I said, "What's wrong". She was reluctant to reply.

I insisted and again said, "What's wrong?"

She relented and said, "Don't you see those fingerprints on the glass?"

I turned and looked and there were what seemed to be fifty or more fingerprints on the glass. I ran for the Windex to clean the glass. The lady "Oh, I didn't mean for you to clean it now."

The morale here is this. That lady never saw the trees. Even when I tried to point them out, She missed it! I didn't see the fingerprints. I was looking through the glass not at it.

When the fingerprints were pointed out to me, I saw them and removed them. The lady never saw the trees. She focused on the fingerprints and she never got passed them.

Life is much like that. There are things in life that are good and things that are bad. You choose which things you want to focus on. I focus on the trees.

What are you focusing on?

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

I have been thinking....and after considerable thinking decided to make my Monday's Toughts for the week. I get them in my e-mails along with words every day, got that from my "so smart" niece ERMA (lol) and decided that everyone could use a great inspirational thought to get them thinking on Monday mornings...and carry it through the week with them. So with that, I am putting 2 GOOD thoughts on for today because...I needed them, and hopefully, some of you will find "thought" in them too!
TOUGHT:
"Sometimes you've got to let everything go - purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything - whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you'll find that when you're free, your true creativity, your true self come out." (Tina Turner)
THOUGHT:
"The first step toward change is acceptance. Once you accept yourself, you open the door to change. That's all you have to do. Change is not something you do, it's something you allow". (Will Garcia)(whoever that is!)

friggatriskaidekaphobiacs

ok you try and pronounce it! Go for it....to sum it up, it is the fear of the number 13. Yeah you got it. FEAR ohhhhhh scary...... #13, #13, #13,
and today folks is FRIDAY THE 13TH. Hope you are having an UNFEARFUL day! Here are some fun maybe, facts about this day....Just look at the fact that many U.S. buildings are without a 13th floor. Even in our day-to-day lives, 12 rules. We have 12 zodiac signs, 12 months in a year and 12 hours on a clock.

Common superstitions:
- Walking under a ladder (don't)
- Throwing salt over your shoulder (do) I still do this to this day!

- Black cat crossing your path (don't)
- Groom seeing the bride the morning of the wedding (don't) I did and look what happened???? bought me 38 years of BLISS!
- Saying "God bless you" after someone sneezes (do) NEVER COULD FIGURE THAT OUT
- Telling someone to "break a leg" before a performance (do)
- Finding a four-leaf clover (do)USE TO SCAVANGE THROUGH THE LAWN FOR HOURS LOOKING!
- Carrying a rabbit's foot (do)

OK SO NOW THAT BEING SAID and this being MY month of GOOD LUCK

Whatever you do on this Friday the 13th, you should probably steer clear of Camp Crystal Lake. After all, Jason, the notorious mass murderer from the "Friday the 13th" movies, has made it overwhelmingly clear for nearly 30 years that it is bad luck to hang out on his turf! oohhh scary!

North Carolina Snow

I am so lucky to live in a beautiful place on this planet where if it snows...it melts the same day or next day...and although it is cold it certainely doesn't chill you to the bone like the Carolina snows do.
With that humidity and all it can get very cold. Natalie is use to snow. She was raised in snow so when they get "snow" it is a big deal to everyone except Nat! She laughs because they shut the schools down for 2 days...then rips her hair out because they shut the schools down for 2 days! lol.
She can drive in snow, she can drive in many feet of snow and it doesn't bother her, but people panic and run to the store and buy everything out because they are paralyzed by 3 or 4 inches lol. Too funny...for those of us who know what REAL SNOW is like.
Bozley (the dog) even entered the picture, hope he didn't yellow the snowman lol UMM Spring has sprung in St. George, and to prove it...here are some beautiful buds that are coming into their elements! These are the pansies that were planted last summer and are still blooming and reblooming from the same plants...
I love the Spring in St. George. My yard looks so good already, thanks to my husband who has a green thumb and a knack for making our home look beautiful!

So...like I said, and please don't get me wrong...
Spring has SPRUNG!

I am so lucky!

this month I am going to talk about LUCK...and to start off...I don't have any Irish in me, or at least I don't think I do...I will have to ask brother Hans if our heritage goes anywhere around Ireland...but I do know that Bob does... his great grandparents were from Ireland...O'Higgins and the "O" was dropped after a couple of generation in America....so, after 38 years of being married to an Irish decendant...I think I have the liberty of saying I am part Irish! lololol, I am not to hard to please and I can get a little overwhelmed at times when I have tooo many choices so...this cute background was my first choice after only looking at 3 green backgrounds...I might get daring and do a couple of different ones throughout the LUCKY MONTH...I do have 2, YES 2 grandsons, born on the exact day of the month only hours apart...Ryan and Kyler Higgins on March 17th...so I will be doing a little St. Patrick tribute to my adorable green babies! but first....
Koltyn is getting into everything...he is as big as a laundry basket nowclimbing up stairs and keeping his parents on their guard
getting into drawers and "stuff" but most of all . . .playing peek-a-boo, and being adorable. Kyler sorta plays with him...as much as a big brother can
but Kolytn's job is to just be adorable
Full tank of gas to Erda...$27.51...Shopping with Camille and Lauren, visiting my sister Terrie and Valerie on Saturday (cost Camille ... $100 plus)... just hanging out with papa after a busy day,PRICELESS...
the triple trouble crew had a birthday party they attended on Friday night...it was a theme party...dress up as your favorite hero's and the girls were asked to come as a princess...well that wasn't hard for Lauren she is princess every day, Owen decided that he was Super Man and showed me how he could fly, Ryan went as Buzz Light Year, and showed me how he could fly.

has anyone ever wondered how to get kids to eat cereal that is good for them? Well if you are a cowboy like Owen is, it isn't hard at all. He loves cows (they wander grandpas field behind their house)Owen knows that hay is good for cows, cows LOVE hay, and Papa eats special bales of hay for breakfast. . . so now Owen does! mini bales of hay that is, coated with special sugar of course! lol

The weather in beautiful southern Utah is in the upper 60's. I love that Spring is just around the corner....so watch out for my "Spring" flash!
