Good morning sunshine!

The “Little Rascals” came this past weekend while my son went to a “geek” electronics convention  in Las Vegas.  His friend had tickets so Mike, Camille and friend drove down to St. George on Thursday, dropped the “rascals” off on Thursday night and headed to Vegas.

My husband is such a good sport…either that or crazy, probably both, but he would never say no to me…so he watched the “rascals” on Friday, (while I was at work) then  brought them to my office so we could have lunch together, after lunch I went back to work and Huh-honey took the “Little Rascals” to the playground at the park.  This helped to take in some of the day and wear them out (a little)(actually he was the one worn out). When I got home it was dinner time, bath and jammies, it had been a busy day for them.   It didn’t take them long to fall asleep.

We had a great couple of days together.  It was short but sweet.  Mike, Camille and family friend returned to our home Saturday evening.  The “rascals” didn’t get in bed until after 9:30 …. they needed to leave our home by  8 am.    Camille had a Sunday School class to teach and needed to be home before 1pm.  It is normally a 4 1/2 drive so they needed an early start.

Lauren was up at right after 7 am and I was waiting for her on the sofa.  She immediately announced she was “starving” so I quickly fixed her some cereal…

As we were sitting at the kitchen table the sun was starting to come up and the sky had a beautiful orange hue with blue background.  scenary 003

Lauren:  “Look at the sunshine  waking up this morning Oma!  It’s like giving us a hug…..It’s like a breath and light”….

“Right Oma?”

(sigh…..BIG sigh)

Me:  “Right princess”……….

From the mouth of babes….it keeps me in perspective….

This is why I miss them so much

Sorry, Linda, I made an error in my original comment, and since it is not possible to edit them once posted, I deleted it.

Am I mistaken or does Ryan resemble you quite a bit?

What a beautiful sunrise and beautiful words from a sweet little girl - she'll see the beauty in the world as she grows, for sure! Write that quote down, won't ya, Oma? Or better still, print off the photo and attach the quote.

We Australians are hurting real bad at the moment with all the flooding in Queensland, causing death (12 so far and 50 missing) and destruction on a huge scale - it was nice to see a piece of beauty and sweetness in all the tragedy I've been watching for the past 3 WEEKS! Thank you,

Joolz

You are the luckiest OMA in the world. They are so lucky to have you so close to them for little visits.

The gift of a child's poetic words went well with that spectacular desert sunrise, Linda - I enlarged to get the full effect. We just don't get those deep colors often. (Or maybe I'm not up in time to see them!) Your Huhoney is like my Bob - a kid's magnet! I just came back from cross country skiing - any of that frozen yogurt left?

It sounds like you had three little warm lights visiting you Linda!
Lauren sure warmed my heart with her statement one the sunrise, I couldn't explain it better!
You had some special sunshine over the weekend! Love Di ♥

Linda, thanks for your visit and a nice comment to my blog. I’m glad to share the places and things I love in Japan with you as well as to have a glimpse into your life and your world.

Your “little rascals” are so lovely, and I’m happy for you that they live within driving distance...., but how long? My son and his wife live in an hour drive, and they gave me my first grandchild last month. The baby girl is getting more and more expressive. I’d shed tears when she would speak like your Lauren someday. I think I know how you felt: it’s surely priceless, precious moment.

I’ve never seen such a sky of sunrise with so vivid color contrast of orange and indigo-blue. I look forward to visiting here from time to time.

Pint sized magic! Can grab your heart, sprinkle stardust on it, and, in the next moment, be all about the cereal. lol.
How lucky are you to have these babes?

Such a sweet post, Linda!
It wonderful to read about their visit and the time you got to spend with them. I loved all the photos and the sunrise was breathtaking! And your granddaughter said it perfectly!

Sorry I haven't been here but it's not from lack of trying, I could see on my sidebar that so many bloggers posted new but blogger wouldn't let me get here!
Today is better but I'm having trouble commenting, let's see what happens here.
LOVE YOU!, Eileen

Linda, I just read your comment to me and I would NEVER think badly of you!
And I actually agree with everything you said.

I can't say what is in the man's heart, and I have no idea if he was speaking from it or not. I was just so glad he didn't use this sad, sad event to further divide the country and to point a finger of blame where it does not belong. I was happy that for at least that evening the country was uniting behind fellow Americans. It's so sad that it has to be some tragic event before we feel that though. I've just been so sick of the big divide in this country. And I know it won't be long before 'politics' rears it's ugly head again (it already has).
I don't have much faith at all in our leaders, and that speech and Emanuel's clarification were a welcome surprise for me.

And even if I didn't agree with you, I still wouldn't think badly of you. To me, that's the beauty of America, we are all FREE to think independently and FREE to voice our opinion!
LOVE YOU!, Eileen

Awe, that made me teary eyed. We should all listen to the children a little more. They really do know what they are talking about!
Love you

Our grandson is 2 1/2 (nuff said!!)...and Lauren is 9 years old...and a princess. I look forward to keeping them for a few hours while their Mother goes to Bible study. We rotate...I go on Sunday nights with my Hubby....and she goes on Tuesday nights and I can keep the grands. Great deal, I think!
