Cows and a Little Cowboy

Owen is such a little cowboy.  He love to be outside.  He loves his little farm and every and any little thing to do with it.  Cowboy boots are a HUGE part of his every day life.  He wears them everywhere….and if he could..he would wear them to bed.pics from home 001 I love to watch his little face light up when you talk about the cows and he can tell you stories….oh yeah….lots and lots of stories about his adventures in rustling the cows on his grandpas ranch and whenever there is a new birth…Owen makes sure that “Craig” knows about it so that it can get tagged.   (Owen age 2)

This fence is what separates the cows from the Higgins back yard.  Owen doesn’t believe in separation…..

He thinks he is one with the cows…..or should be

Even a sweet face like this one…

So when a brand new baby was spotted lying down next to mama cow, Owen got real excited and wanted to go check it out…the baby got up real fast…see the new calf in the distance…

So off he went with his dad to check it out…the excitement was almost to much for him…

the closer they got…

Well the more spread out the cows became and the mama cow became more protective of her calf…

It was a long disappointed walk back for a “Little Cowboy” who was unable to get close…

Papa soon distracted him into rounding up the chickens and trying to get them back into the coop…

Owen is a great round-er-upper of chickens…me..not so good, I was told to move back and out of the way…I was interfering with the round-up!

Owen will be a great rancher and farmer when he grows up…oh wait a minute…

He already is…

This cowboy makes me smile….

He reminds me of a couple of other cowboys I know….

How cute is Owen? VERY is my opinion! I think he and my Caden would get along just fine. One could rustle and the other could round-up and then they could take turns riding the tractor!

Beautiful!
And what a nice life for Owen to grow up on a farm like that! And he's such a natural for that life, I think it's wonderful!
And holding his cowboy boots so dear to him already at two years old! That was too precious! I love it!

Love to you,
Eileen
