Red Rose (and other stuff)

image

A single red rose was left at my door

I don’t know where it came from…or who it was for!

It was wrapped in pink tissue

With a red ribbon gently tied

I saw no note or tag about it

So within myself I sighed

I’ve heard that a red rose will always bring joy

especially if that rose did come from a boy!

That day and night I wondered who had left the rose that way

Only to wake and find another at my door, the very next day.

It’s strange you see, but it’s happened again;

for ten days have passed, now 12 I’ve gathered in.

Yes it’s mysterious, this I know

But actually it’s mystery doesn’t bother me so

For each rose has brought me such joy

Could it be true, that they have actually come from a boy?

(I wrote this little poem when I was in the 8th grade, and no, I didn’t get any roses. LOL  I think I have always been in love with love and the thought of it and every little thing that goes along with it….roses have always been my favorite flower.  I think it may just have been puppy love and wishful thinking on my part when I wrote this silly poem.  OH pitter patter of the heart!) (SIGH)

Since I last posted, I was visited by the “little rascals”, Huhoney and I took them into the desert to see the dinosaur tracks,

Very cute poem Linda, I use to do the same thing as a young girl.
You and Huhoney had lots of activities going on to entertain those rascals...I'm sure they had fun. Hope those last 4 days are a breeze for you Linda!

I can't believe you are ready to plant a garden...we're still under a foot of snow, but that sun was awfully bright today! Not only do you have warmer weather, you have a chunky monkey’s neck to kiss!
Lucky you!

I LOVE chunky baby necks. The best smell in the whole world!!! My mouth is watering right now...
Have you heard the song 18 Yellow Roses by Bobby Darrin? One of my favorites...
Also, Rada will probably miss you, but yay for the end of that relationship, eh?

Nice poem Linda, you had me going I thought you really did get the roses! The photos in the desert were very cute. The one with your granddaughter driving brought back memories. Jake used to do that with Katie. Wish he could do that with her now! I hope your shopping trip is fun.

And I'm happy to hear that you will be getting away for some 'me' time!

Your poem was so sweet, and even sweeter was reading you say that you are in love with love! Adorable!

And give that beautiful baby a kiss for me!

Enjoy Vegas!
And you are in my prayers. So happy to read that you are doing well.
Love to you,
