PEACH PIE

Birds have to eat you know, and I have shared my sweet little peach tree with them for a couple of weeks….but they have become stingy….and have randomly pecked at my precious little peaches until Huh-Honey and I said….ENOUGH!

This year is my first crop!  We planted this peach tree only last Fall, so I think it is fair to be selfish when it comes to my peaches…

we picked about 50 of these Alberta beauties….we just had dinner and I decided….I am making a peach pie! 7:30 in the evening.

WHY???? because I know my house will smell wonderful and Bob will eat it.

so I began the process, and this very simple recipe tells me that the preparation time is only 15 minutes….. (LIAR!) my prep time was more like 45 minutes! cook time 40…

I want to tell you….I am not a wonderful cook.  I have never considered myself a wonderful cook but sometimes when I get the bug…..I can be a wonderful cook (baker, whatever). 6 cups of these sweet peaches.

Mixed and tossed with “stuff”

Then dumped into a yummy crumbly pie crust…(I quit rolling pie crust when I found this one)

Topped with more crumbly buttery brown sugar cinnamon “stuff”

It was really full!  My mouth was watering…

Popped that baby into the oven for 40 mins.

and……

watched America’s Got Talent while the house was filled with blissful aroma….

Then wahhh-laaaa

I TOOK IT OUT OF THE OVEN*

LET IT COOL A BIT *

PLACED IT IN THE REFRIGERATOR………….

AND WENT TO BED!!

YEP EVEN HUH-HONEY was too full from dinner to have a piece LOL.

Yeah…I know….CRAZY huh….I am hoping it is as yummy tonight for dessert……

(sorry I forgot to bring the recipe to post with the measurements, I will do that if you would like me to!)

hugs and smiles across the miles….linda

Your pie looks soooo good. There's no way I could go to bed with out at least a little sample bite! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
I sure would like to stop by and have a piece with you!

Yuuuum! Peaches aren't something that grow around here easily so if I get them from the supermarket they are usually hard and dry (from being picked months ago and put in cold storage) and not juicy at all, like yours. That pie looks soooo good!

I agree with Pat, I would have had to have a taste (maybe with icecream)?

Cheers - Joolz

So have you eaten any of the pie yet, Linda? It was 'almost' too pretty to cut, but I think I could manage slicing through it!

Hi Linda, FINALLY, you've posted, and I almost missed it! I've been playing computer hooky lately to stay outdoors more. That pie looks luscious! Peach is my favorite - too bad I don't live closer...Yum, Yum! Hope all is well with Huhoney (and you, too).

Linda Dear,
I think that your peach pie would be wonderful cold, hot, warm, no matter what...but I was taught (by my dad) (because my mom makes amazing pies) that when they come out of the oven, you HAVE to have a piece...of course, with ice-cream, because it melts into the pie and makes it even more heavenly!!!
I am sitting here just trying to reason how you could have the discipline to have not touched it!
Amazing!!!!!!
;^) ;^) ;^)
(I'll be right over...soon as I can catch a flight...for the leftovers.)
:^)
Hugs,
C

So, I certainly expect to see that recipe for the crumbly crust either posted on your blog (next) or sent to my email. Pfft, I would have eaten a piece of that pie no matter how full I was or how late it was.
Love ya
