Behind
My goodness I am way behind in posting! Not that I haven’t been reading everyone’s post, but I just haven’t gotten around to posting myself….so here’s for you Ryan!
While visiting up North for Ryan’s birthday party this was the happenings for the weekend.
Much preparation went into the little get together, Camille never does anything “small”. Gotta love this girl! Such a sweet mama.
The makings of Ryan’s BD cake which started on Friday and by the evening Camille had started frosting it. “This is going to be a monster cake” she told me…so we left it and took off to Friday night ‘craft night’ which happens each and every Friday night…at Jessica’s. I think 6 or 7 girls showed up. They make all kinds of fun crafty things. Everyone was doing Easter stuff. We got home around midnight (and that is early folks) (I heard a couple of the girls stayed until after 3 am!) and Camille decided to finish the cake in the morning.
Mr. Monster cake didn’t stand like she wanted so he ended up just lying down….a one eyed 3 horned green colorful monster! Ryan loved it!
You can’t go wrong making a monster cake… anything goes……
Time for Papa to help blow up balloons and put string on the balloons to hang from the ceiling. Papa is a good helper…..
They were hung with great care……..
and placed around the party table with perfection, there is NOTHING better than party balloons!
The guests arrived and the pizza party began for the children…while the adults had a scrumptious sloppy joe with the fixins!
One way to get children to eat a whole piece of pizza is to have them make their own…. you just thaw Rhodes rolls and let them choose their toppings. It was a huge hit! Very clever idea isn’t it?!
smash it flat with your little hands and put whatever your little heart desires on the pizza and eat some pepperoni and olives while you are deciding…
Place all the little party pizza’s on a corn meal sprinkled baking pan and…….
in just a few minutes you have a perfect smiley face pizza man! ummm yum!
Now the best part of all is the look and anticipation of Ryan waiting for all the candles to be lit on his cake…
PHOOOOO….good job Ryan! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!
I love this little guy!
There is nothing better than a party to celebrate a special birthday boy!
Can you say……….. CHEEEZZZEE
It was fun to be in the company of family and friends…. Thanks Camille and Mike for a fun weekend of special memories to add to another chapter of my blessed life!

The making of a snowman
We went up North to visit the “little rascals” last weekend. We took Kyler with us to visit his cousins. Although it was quick we did enjoy it….except for the weather….
We woke up Saturday morning to this…a bit of snow coming down.
My son got up and immediately started a fire in his stove to warm up the house…this is not good I thought, not good at all….I was thinking, “OH DEAR, looks like we are in for the long haul, the weatherman said it was suppose to be in the 50’s and PARTLY CLOUDY!!!! HELLO??? Notice the “SPRING” sign… wishful thinking….
Within 30 minutes even the volunteer fire dept truck was left abandoned, apparently they knew what was coming even if the weatherman didn’t!
It didn’t take long for the “little rascals” to bundle up and show Oma what fun it can be….yeah right………I didn’t bring any snow clothes,
I got rid of them when I moved to the desert.
It didn’t take long for little missy in the cute green snow suit to abandon the boys, and for the boys to start a snowball fight, good thing I was in the kitchen looking out the window at them…they have a pretty good arm!
After a little coaching on how to make a snowball and begin the rolling process for a snowman, (I did actually do this when I was little even though I hated snow)
The 2 cousins Owen and Kyler began the ball rolling…..
8 inches of snow fell in less than 6 hours
After several attempts of getting one ball on top of another and it falling apart….
The MASTER stepped in
roll…………roll…………………rolllllllllllllllllllllllllllll…
Until it is just the right size…………then you
Pat, pat, pat, pat, pat to make it nice and flat on top and pat, pat, pat the sides to make it nice and stuck together before adding another piece of the body…
Look for just the right twigs and weeds for the hair and arms….
Be sure you have it just right…give him some eyes from coal, a carrot for his nose and add a scarf and wha---la---
THE PERFECT SNOWMAN
Thanks Mikie, daddy and Uncle Mike for making such a fun snow day out of a what could have been a very dull Saturday!
Rosy cheeks warming up by the fire, warm hot chocolate waiting to sip on and a warm hug from OMA made this day a fun day.
Sunday always is a special day…don’t they clean up nicely!
Sweet Princess Lauren Olivia
(SIGH, big SIGH)
I JUST LOVE THESE “LITTLE RASCALS”
See you next week for the birthday party!
Love Oma…

Bustin out ALL OVER…
It may not be June yet…but everything is busting out all over here in the desert!
I saw this amazing movie as a child. It was a night out with my mother, girls night out, I remember her crying and me crying during the movie and I was soooo mesmerized by the dancing. I knew I was going to grow up and be just like one of those dancers! I can’t tell you how many times I have seen this movie and…
YES YOU ARE ALL SINGING AREN’T YOU! Sweet SWEET memories!
my cross plum and apricot tree is in full bloom…
my little apple tree is bustin out all over!
Huhoney has his tomato plants in the ground, we use every bit of ground we can…
since this pic , potatoes are in the ground, carrots, beets, here you see zucchini, bell peppers, gosh I am not sure what he has going on here LOL, but it will be filled up!
my roses in the front are getting so big and just begging the sun to keep shinning!
The tree in the front courtyard is almost full now, next week it should be completely bloomed, my beautiful flowering plum tree.
We have forgotten what kind of tree we planted here just 4 years ago but it is a wonderful shade tree and it has the oddest branches, just before it comes into bloom before the leaves, it has such strange looking pods and quirky shaped branches.
But when it does BUST OUT we have amazing shade…
Mr. Green Jeans, AKA Huhoney is so proud of his little yard and it is so beautiful and GREEN. The grass is like velvet…
Now if it will only stop raining…
